Vows with a view
Sofia and James are climbers, so a ballroom was never on the cards. They married on a clifftop with twelve guests, the wind doing whatever it wanted with the veil, and the sea providing the only music they needed.
We hiked the gear up in dry bags, taped everything that could rattle, and shot the ceremony from three quiet positions so the couple never saw a camera between the vows and the kiss.
Stills and motion, side by side
This wedding was booked as a hybrid commission — full photography plus a short film cut from the same day. Stills carry the detail; motion carries the weather, the laughter mid-sentence, the way the grass bent sideways during the readings.
Working both mediums at once demands discipline. We plan the day in shared blocks: ceremony covered by both, portraits alternating every few minutes, and the evening given over to documentary shooting where each of us follows instinct.
“Watching the film, you can hear the wind. Looking at the photos, you can feel it. Together they are the whole day.” — Sofia
The descent portraits
After the ceremony we walked the coastal path with the couple for forty minutes, stopping wherever the light broke through. No reflector, no assistant holding a veil — just two people, slightly windswept, completely themselves.
Our approach
Adventure weddings reward small teams and light kits. Two photographers, weather-sealed bodies, prime lenses, and a plan that leaves room for the day to surprise us. That is the whole method — everything else is attention.
